ISIM Headquarter

Alternative names:

Completion date:

1974

At the middle of the 1970s, the architect Adelina Iojică put forth a proposal for a tall, cylindrical building, which soon became a reference point in the city: the National Institute for Research Development in Welding and Materials Testing - ISIM. The building, informally known as “The Jar”, is captured and depicted by the Amandine Bănescu as precisely that, a giant jar of pickles.
