On the road that connects the center of the neighbourhood to the train station, close to Ștefan cel Mare Bridge, there is an imposing five storey building. Located right on the shores of Bega, the building is the work of Martin Gemeinhardt, an architect from Timișoara who was also the owner of the building.

During the Interwar Period, in the building operated Splendid Hotel, whose owner was the same Martin Gemeinhardt. The edifice was erected in the style of the 1900s, and is remarkable through the play of volumes in its facades and roof, and the treatment of the corner, of the loggias and the drawing of the roof cover.
