On 1 June 1901, Wilhelm (Vilmos) Mühle, a renowned city gardener, obtained a construction permit for adding a floor to an existing house on Rezső Street no. 9 (currently Alba Iulia Street). The building displays a historicist/eclectic style, typical of the second half of the 19th century in Timișoara, with Classical and Neo-Baroque elements.
One notices the decorative frieze under the cornice which depicts floral garlands set against panels separated by decorative consoles, the double Corinthian pilasters which flank the doors and windows on the first floor, as well as the decorative cups on the roof. The ground floor benefits from a somber treatment with adjoined pilasters and plasterwork that imitates brickwork. Inside there is a beautiful cast iron column.
The building hosted the flowers, seeds and flower arrangements shop belonging to the Mühle family, the central place where they exhibited and sold the products grown in the glasshouses and nurseries in Elisabetin neighbourhood. After the death of Vilmos, the building passed to his wife, Josephina, who carried on the floral tradition of the family, alongside their son, Árpád.
