Situated at one of the corners of Carmen Sylva Park is a small but richly ornate house, well-integrated in the urban environment of Elisabetin district. The building’s façade, accentuated by the presence of banded and diamond rustication, is marked by elements successively withdrawn from the building. The house’s corners stand out through their semicircular pediments that are decorated with floral motifs and urns. The massive wrought iron gate is especially attractive, both through its metalwork and the monogrammed medallion that bears the initials “JK” in the transom light – the initials of the owner, architect Jakab Klein. The presence of empty niches on both facades of the house makes us wonder about the house’s former appearance.
